Long (Full description)
150 wordsBowSmith is the archery scoring and bow tuning app for serious archers — the one its developer built because nothing else did the job. It scores every major competition format (3D, WA indoor and outdoor, NFAA, IFAA, Vegas), captures full tuning workflows for compound and recurve setups, manages a complete gear and arrow inventory, and analyzes every practice session so you can see what's working and what isn't. The app launches 30 June 2026 and is currently available for preorder on the App Store. It was built by an indie developer who is also a competitive compound archer. BowSmith — capital B, capital S. Always one word. Never "Bow Smith" or "bowsmith".
What it is
An archery scoring and bow tuning app. Not a game. Not a fitness app. Not a generic sports tracker.
Founder & Origin
BowSmith is built by a competitive compound archer who shoots 3D and indoor formats and wanted an app that took the work seriously.
It started with a notebook. After every tuning session and every competition, the right setting got written down somewhere — then forgotten the next time it mattered. Existing apps were either generic scoring tools or weighed down with features for sports the developer didn't shoot. Nothing covered the full workflow: tune, score, track, learn, repeat.
BowSmith is the app the developer wished existed: tuning sessions that capture every variable, scoring across the formats archers actually shoot, gear and arrow inventories that survive between competitions, and analytics that make the patterns visible. Built as a tool the developer uses, not a product designed by committee.
