Lukostřelba WA 3D

World Archery 3D is the international 3D archery format used at the World Archery 3D Championships and continental events. A 3D round is 24 animal targets at unmarked distances with two arrows at each, and qualification is two such rounds. Archers score the same four zones IBO uses: 11, 10, 8 and 5 for a body hit.

Detaily

A World Archery 3D round is 24 targets at unmarked distances, with two arrows shot at each target from the shooting peg. The qualification round is two such rounds shot on consecutive days, followed by elimination matches over six targets and finals over four, still two arrows per target; in the Team event each member shoots one arrow per target, while Mixed Team archers shoot two each. There are no marked yardages to rely on, so judging distance is part of the discipline.

There are four bow divisions: compound, barebow, longbow and traditional. Pegs are set by division, with a maximum distance of 45 metres for compound and 30 metres for barebow, longbow and traditional, so a compound archer can face the same animal from considerably further back than a longbow archer.

Scoring uses four zones: 11 for the small centre ring inside the 10, 10 for the ring around it, 8 for the vital area and 5 for any other hit on the animal. An arrow that misses the scoring area scores zero, as it does under IBO and ASA rules, so the practical differences between these formats lie in the number of arrows, the distances and the classes rather than the ring values.

For practice, WA-3D printables reuse the same physical face as our IBO prints, since both score the same 11 / 10 / 8 / body zones and World Archery does not standardise zone sizes; only the footer changes: the scoring summary and World Archery's own distance band. The two-arrow format is worth rehearsing on its own: the second arrow at each target is where a good read of the first arrow's impact pays off.

How is WA-3D different from IBO?
The scoring zones are the same: 11, 10, 8 and 5 for a body hit, with a miss worth nothing in both. The differences are in the format. World Archery 3D shoots two arrows at each target, 24 targets to a round and two rounds in qualification, with maximum distances of 45 m for compound and 30 m for the other divisions, while IBO shoots from colour-coded stakes up to about 50 yards. WA-3D is the international championship format; IBO is primarily a US circuit.
What bows can I shoot in World Archery 3D?
There are four divisions: compound, barebow, longbow and traditional. There is no sighted Olympic-style recurve division, but a recurve can be shot in barebow or traditional if it meets that division's equipment rules. Compound archers shoot from pegs up to 45 m away, the other divisions up to 30 m.
