Community event · 11–30 November 2026
Independence Event 2026
BowSmith's first community event starts on Polish Independence Day. Every archer who joins adds their arrows to one shared total, with rankings worldwide, per continent and per country.
Sessions you log from 11 November count toward the event, even if you join later. You can join until the end of 30 November.
What it is
From 11 to 30 November 2026, shoot as you normally would and log your sessions in BowSmith. Your arrows join a community total that every participant can follow in the app.
Rankings are kept worldwide, per continent and per country. Everyone who joins and logs at least one session during the event earns the Independence Event 2026 participation badge. The global top 3 by session arrows receive BowSmith stickers and a thank-you card.
How to join
- Update BowSmith to version 1.4.0, or download it from the App Store.
- Open Progress & Challenges and choose the Independence Event.
- Pick the name and country shown in the rankings, or show yourself as Anonymous Archer, then tap Join.
Joining needs a signed-in iCloud account, because the rankings are shared between archers. You can join until the end of 30 November, your local time.
Get BowSmith on the App StoreSession arrows and total arrows
The event counts two numbers:
- Session arrows: arrows from the sessions you log: practice, competition, tinkering and warm-up.
- Total arrows: your session arrows plus any arrows you add by hand.
Total arrows feed the community total and their own ranking. Prizes go by session arrows only, because a number typed in at the last minute shouldn't decide who wins.
Official Rules
Last updated October 28, 2026
1. Organizer
The Independence Event 2026 (the "Event") is organized by Michał Buczko, sole proprietorship based in Poland, the developer and operator of the BowSmith app, publishing as PIIAR Software ("BowSmith", "we").
2. Dates
The Event counts sessions from 11 November 2026 00:00 up to, but not including, 1 December 2026 00:00, on each participant's own local calendar. A session counts for the day it started.
You can join from the moment you install the 1.4.0 update until the end of 30 November 2026, your local time.
From 1 December until the final standings are frozen on 2 December 2026 at 23:59 UTC, counts from the Event period can still sync, but no one can join.
3. Who can take part
Anyone with the BowSmith app and a signed-in iCloud account can take part.
To receive a prize, a winner must be 18 or older, or have a parent's or guardian's consent, and must have a postal address in a country BowSmith can legally send a parcel to. Winners confirm this by email; the app never asks for it.
4. No purchase necessary
No purchase is necessary to join, take part or win. The Event is free for everyone, and joining needs no subscription.
5. What counts and how winners are chosen
Session arrows are the arrows from sessions logged in BowSmith during the Event. Arrows added by hand count toward total arrows only.
Prize winners are the top 3 of the global session-arrow ranking in the frozen standings. If two participants have the same number of session arrows, the one who reached that number first ranks higher.
Continent and country rankings carry no prize.
6. Prizes
Each of the top 3 receives BowSmith stickers and a thank-you card. Prizes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Winners claim their prize by emailing support@bowsmith.app with their event code within 30 days after the event screen in the app shows the confirmed winners. If a winner is not eligible or does not claim in time, the next participant in the ranking moves up.
7. Verification and disqualification
We may verify any entry and may disqualify entries whose counts are implausible or that break these rules.
8. Privacy
Rankings show your chosen name (or Anonymous Archer), your country and continent if you chose one, and your arrow counts. Leaving the Event deletes your entry. Final counts and ranks remain part of the historical results.
9. Apple
Apple is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, this event.
10. Language
These rules are published in English, Polish, German and Czech. If the versions differ, the English version prevails.
Your privacy
When you join, the rankings show only the name you chose (or Anonymous Archer), your country and continent if you picked one, and your arrow counts and ranks. Your email address, postal address and Apple Account identifier are never published. Your event code stays private: it is how you prove a win. Leaving the Event, or using Delete All My Data in the app, deletes your entry, and archers who leave are no longer shown by name or country in the results.
Questions?
Email us about the Event at support@bowsmith.app and quote your event code, which you'll find on the event screen in the app.
Frequently asked questions
I update the app after 11 November. Do my earlier sessions count?
Yes. Sessions you log from 11 November count toward the event, even if you join later. You can join until the end of 30 November, your local time.
Do I have to show my name?
No. Turn on "Show me as Anonymous Archer" and the rankings show Anonymous Archer with your country. You keep your rank and can still win.
Why don't arrows I add by hand count for prizes?
They count toward the community total and the total-arrows ranking. Prizes use session arrows so that a number typed in on the last day can't decide the winners.
Does the Event cost anything?
No. The Event is free for everyone, and joining needs no subscription.
When are the results announced?
The standings freeze on 2 December 2026 at 23:59 UTC. The app then shows the final results, and the winners once they are confirmed.
